SHAREHOLDERS BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
All banks are required by Anti-Money Laundering regulations to verify the shareholders business experience is relevant to the intended business activity of the new company prior to opening an account for the company.
Furthermore if the shareholder is an overseas resident most banks will usually only open company accounts if the shareholder owns an existing business in his country of residence with a similar activity to the new Hong Kong company or for some nationalities banks will open accounts if the shareholder has a minimum of 5 years relevant experience gained from employment.
